Class Descriptions

Level I

Instruction in the fundamentals of yoga including mindfulness, principles of alignment, and regulation of the breath. Variations on classical poses are given to accommodate for individual needs. This level is appropriatefor beginners or for those wanting a gentle practice.

Level II

Building upon the fundamentals, this level emphasizes standing poses and introduces simple backbends. Appropriate for continuing beginners.

Level III

Intermediate level practices including backbends, inversions, and pranayama are taught.

Level IV

Intermediate/advanced. This level is for those with a minimum of two years yoga experience or by permission of the instructor.

Vinyasa

An all level vinyasa class consisting of flowing sequences of postures linked to the breath. This class is not recommended for those new to yoga.

Yin Yoga

Yin yoga is a powerfully, quiet and nurturing practice particularly effective in releasing deeply held tension in connective tissues thereby freeing up and increasing the flow of life energy for healing purposes.

Restorative Yoga

Restorative postures are fully supported and held for longer periods of time than a typical practice providing the body with the conditions it requires to heal and reestablish it's natural rhythms. The result is a lasting experience of deep relaxation and well being.

Kripalu YogaDance

Moving into Meditation

If you're having trouble establishing a meditation practice, this is the class for you! We'll open body and mind with a practice of gently invigorating postures, breath awareness and deep relaxation followed by a twenty minute seated meditation. Break the bonds of stress and experience your own inner silence. No prior experience is necessary.

First Friday Free Yoga

The first Friday of every month we turn on the music and play! This time is open to students of all levels and it's a wonderful opportunity to practice on your own with other yogis.

Special Needs

Eight week courses are offered periodically to address common concerns including arthritis, depression, low back ache, knee pain, neck and shoulder pain, and stress reduction. Appropriate for beginners as well as seasonedpractitioners.

Open studio

Studio is open and free of charge for yoga/meditation practice for current students at Mudita Yoga.
